Clemson Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney said his offensive and defensive units couldn't connect at the same time, which led to the disappointing loss.

The Syracuse Orange (3-1, 1-0) pulled off a huge win for the program by going wire-to-wire on the road over the Clemson Tigers. Many outside of Syracuse pointed to the Clemson failures, but that really diminishes what the Orange did in taking control from the start and keeping the Tigers chasing their tails.

The Clemson Tigers look to find the same spark they did a year ago with an early-season surge they hope starts Saturday against the Syracuse Orange.

Syracuse took a 24-14 lead into half, which was extended for over an hour because of weather conditions in South Carolina. But out of halftime, Syracuse continued its momentum, causing a fumble with 2:18 left in the third quarter which was recovered by Rashad Perry at the Clemson 18 yard line.

Syracuse QB Steve Angeli appeared to injure his lower leg in the first half on Sept. 20 when a Clemson defender landed on him following a slide.
