After producing feet of rain over countries in Central America, moisture associated with the remnants of Sara are expected to stream northward, increasing the chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms mid-week along the Gulf Coast.

Tropical Storm Sara is forecast to slog its way over Central America this weekend but lose organization before remnants make their way into the Gulf of Mexico and get sucked back to the east toward Florida next week.

The storm will continue to produce catastrophic flooding in parts of Central America, where now up to 40 inches of rain are possible.
