Jason Knauf, who worked as an aide for the Prince and Princess of Wales until 2021, reflected on a conversation with Prince William following both King Charles and Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis in an appearance on 60 Minutes Australia on Sunday,

The Sun newspaper reports that Jason Knauf was speaking to Australian current affairs show 60 Minutes Australia when he shared taking an emotional phone call from William, recalling: “Within a couple of weeks if you’re Prince William, you find out that both your wife and your father have cancer.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have endured a difficult past year, with Princess Kate confirming her cancer diagnosis in early 2024, temporarily stepping away from her duties to focus on her recovery.

Prince William was the “lowest I have ever seen him” after the Princess of Wales was diagnosed with cancer, one of his closest former aides has said. Jason Knauf, a former chief executive of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Royal Foundation, said the phone call in which he learned of the Princess’s illness was “awful, absolutely awful”.

Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton’s former adviser opened up about the couple in an interview with 60 Minutes Australia
