The New York Mets have contacted the Pittsburgh Pirates regarding a potential trade for starting pitcher Mitch Keller after the Chicago Cubs initially registered interest, according to Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The Mets will be in the market for starting pitching ahead of the trade deadline -- one arms they are reportedly already showing interest in is Pirates right-hander Mitch Keller.

Jim Bowden of The Athletic reported that along with the Chicago Cubs, who others previously reported showed interest in Keller, the New York Mets are a potential landing spot for the Pirates starting pitcher.
