Clowney himself, however, claimed he's not trying to be the new Parsons in Dallas at the age of 32 and entering his 12th NFL season. The first overall pick from the 2014 NFL Draft said he was actually contemplating becoming a Cowboy before the Parsons trade.
However, owner Jerry Jones said on Friday morning ( via the Athletic’s Jon Machota) that he expected Clowney to make his Cowboys debut, though his snap count might be limited. Clearly, the team has yet to make a final determination regarding their recent signing.
The Cowboys are looking for Clowney to get around "20 plays a game to disrupt and rush the passer,” EVP Stephen Jones said.
New Dallas Cowboys DE Jadeveon Clowney appears to be done with the jersey number gymnastics & will reportedly wear a number that last belonged to a popular RB.
