Staying the course is hard, especially when the results haven't been there, but that appears to be the plan from team ownership when it comes to general manager Joe Schoen, who when asked about his immediate future indicated that he would be allowed to continue trying to rebuild a franchise that’s been in shatters.

Schoen's bye week news conference was a no-win situation for the GM. Unfortunately, that made it a lot like the team he has assembled.

“There’s no sense in going through a rebuild with the head coach and a general manager on the hot seat,” Canty said. “It’s been three years for (Brian) Daboll and (Joe) Schoen and frankly, that’s long enough.”
