Later that day, he’d perform with his band, The Boxmasters, at Tannahill’s Tavern and Music Hall after being honored there by the Lone Star Film Festival for his contributions to Texas film and TV. His latest Texas role is in Taylor Sheridan ’s Permian Basin oil drama, Landman, which premieres Sunday on Paramount+.

Oscar-winner Billy Bob Thornton told UPI that "Landman" creator Taylor Sheridan wrote the contemporary western's main character specifically for him.
