A tropical wave just off the west coast of Africa has a low potential of developing as it moves west-northwestward across the Atlantic.

Tropical Storm Gabrielle formed Wednesday morning over the central Atlantic Ocean, becoming the seventh named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.

Most of the North Carolina coast, including Wilmington and the southern part of the Outer Banks, is at a moderate risk of rip currents Saturday and Sunday, according the NHC.
