Auburn Falls Out of AP Poll
Auburn was ranked in the AP Poll for the first time since 2021 two weeks ago when they entered at No. 24. Auburn fell to 3-1 after the loss, and although they are not in the top-25, the Tigers have plenty of time to recover before the first official College Football Playoff Rankings are announced.
After allowing ten sacks in Saturday's 24-17 loss to Oklahoma, Auburn's O-line is struggling, and Texas A&M's defensive line needs to take advantage.
Oklahoma survived a grind in its SEC opener, leaning on a record-setting defensive performance and a late touchdown from John Mateer to outlast No. 22 Auburn 23-16 and move to 4-0.

No. 11 Oklahoma’s record 10 sacks and Mateer’s late TD sink No. 22 Auburn and ex-Sooner QB Arnold
John Mateer passed for 271 yards as No. 11 Oklahoma defeated No. 22 Auburn 24-17. Mateer scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 9-yard run with 4:54 remaining.
The Sooners swarmed former quarterback Jackson Arnold for a school-record-tying nine sacks, including a safety with 1:06 left that sealed a 24-17 victory.
In the second quarter, Oklahoma scored by appearing to have wide receiver Isaiah Sategna III pretend to head to the sideline, but he remained on the field. With no one from an unaware Auburn defense near him, he caught a wide-open pass in the end zone.
