The National Hurricane Center's 11 p.m. Saturday update reported that Tropical Storm Gabrielle is in the Atlantic Ocean, 575 miles north-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands and 580 miles southeast of Bermuda. It is moving northwest at 10 mph, with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph.

The hostile upper winds and dry air that have been keeping Tropical Storm Gabrielle from organizing are slowly letting up, though the system hasn’t intensified yet.
