Another afternoon of active severe weather brought heavy rains and the threat of flash flooding to central Iowa.

On Saturday at 2:58 p.m. the NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC released a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 4 p.m. for Catawba County.

Another round of heavy rain and high winds could hit the region late Friday and into early Saturday.

A tornado warning was announced by the National Weather Service at 2:28 p.m., followed shortly by several rounds of tornado sirens.
